Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Ivy Rosavida ("I," "me") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit this website or correspond with me by email. I'm an independent author. This is a small operation. I keep this short on purpose.
What I Collect
I only collect information you choose to share with me directly. Specifically:
- Email correspondence. When you email me — to request a review copy, to subscribe to the newsletter, or for any other reason — I receive your email address and whatever else you include in your message.
- Newsletter subscribers. If you subscribe to my newsletter, your email address and subscription status are stored in Substack so I can send occasional updates and so unsubscribe requests can be handled automatically.
- Reviewer information. When you request a review copy, you typically share your name, the channel or platform where you review, your country, and your audience size. I use this to send you the copy and follow up.
I do not use website analytics, cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party scripts to collect information about visitors browsing this site. Page visits leave no record beyond standard hosting logs.
How I Use Your Information
- To deliver review copies you've requested
- To send occasional newsletters if you've subscribed (no more than monthly, typically less often)
- To manage newsletter subscriptions and automated unsubscribe requests through Substack
- To reply to your messages
- To follow up with reviewers about the book
I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. I may use trusted service providers — such as email (Gmail), website hosting (Cloudflare), newsletter management and automated unsubscribes (Substack), and review-copy delivery (BookFunnel) — solely to operate this site, communicate with readers, manage newsletter subscriptions, and deliver requested materials. These providers act on my behalf under their own privacy policies; I do not authorize them to use your information for any other purpose.
Your Rights
You can ask me at any time to:
- Tell you what information I have about you
- Correct any information that's wrong
- Remove you from my newsletter list, including through the automated unsubscribe link in any Substack newsletter email
- Delete your information entirely
To do any of these, use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or email readtheplantdiaries@gmail.com with your request. I'll respond within 7 days. There's no formal process — just a real human reading your email.
If you're in the EU, UK, or California and want to invoke specific rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA, the same email address works. I treat all such requests the same way regardless of where you live.
Where Information Is Stored
Your emails to me live in my Gmail inbox. Newsletter subscriptions and automated unsubscribes are managed through Substack. Cloudflare Pages hosts this website. BookFunnel delivers review copies to reviewers who request them. Each of these service providers has its own privacy policy that governs any data they handle on my behalf:
Children
This website is intended for adult readers. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent me information, please email me and I'll delete it immediately.
Changes to This Policy
If anything material changes, I'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. The current version always lives at this URL.
